Faith Over Fear Food Hospitality House Inc. was founded in 2014. We are a 501(c) non-profit organization. Our mission is to combat community deterioration, gang violence, homelessness, broken families, and broken lives. Our focus is to walk with people who are trying to make a transition away from the hopelessness of their current trauma to visualize and achieve healing and hope.
Reddics Johnson grew up in the Pasadena/Altamont area during the height of gang activity in the 70’s and 80’s. He felt trapped in an endless cycle of violence and incarceration, his future looked bleak. One day while in solitary confinement, a guard gave him a bible. He began to open his eyes to see another way of life. He discovered a God of love and forgiveness. Reddics committed to God: to feed the hungry and mentor youth to stay away from gangs, violence, and prison by experiencing Christ’s message of love and reconciliation.
In 2014, Reddics felt God calling him to leave the world that he knew in Pasadena and bring his mission to Seattle. In the following years, the core mission to feed and mentor continued to grow focusing on the South King County area where many of the residents are underserved and disadvantaged. Faith Over Fear walks with those who have been marginalized, step by step, guided by the light of the Gospel, to realize a future of hope.
